WAVERLY – A Charles City woman was caught drunk driving and in possession of a highly-illegal substance.
On March 4, 2017 the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Further investigation led to the arrest of Shahara Dowd, age 30 of Charles City, for operating while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The illegal substance, court records show, was methamphetamine.
Dowd was jailed and then released. She now awaits an April 21 arraignment.
