Charles City woman arrested for second time after domestic altercation

CHARLES CITY – A Charles City woman who was accused of a felony domestic assault last year but pled guilty to a lesser crime was arrested again recently after another domestic incident.

Charles City police were called just before 8 PM on the evening of March 20 to a residence at the 1200 block of North Grand Avenue for a disturbance. Officers arrives and after an investigation, arrested 31-year-old Kelsi Patten of Charles City on a charge of domestic abuse causing injury. Patten was jailed and soon released, pending an arraignment on April 25.

Patten was arrested last October after Charles City police investigated a previous domestic incident that took place on September 19, 2016. She was charged with felony domestic abuse assault causing strangulation. She later pled guilty only disorderly conduct / fight or violent behavior and was ordered to pay $309.69 in fines and court fees.

Back in 2011, Patten was charged with assault, but in another plea deal, pled guilty only to disorderly conduct / fight or violent behavior. She paid $406.95 in fines and court fees in that case.
