MASON CITY – A Kensett man has been sent to jail after another theft crime.
Joseph James Buchite, age 26 of Kensett but working in Mason City as a line cook, is now serving a one-day jail sentence after his latest theft conviction. He was charged last September by Clear Lake police with fifth-degree theft and after at least three warrants were issued for his arrest, he was finally jailed today to serve his jail sentence and get fingerprinted. He faces a contempt of court charge at this time.
Buchite was guilty of theft back in 2014, after a charge from Mason City police. He was fined and ordered to pay court costs and fees. Records show he owes the entire $518.00 in that case.
Last year, Buchite was guilty of felony assault causing bodily injury up in Worth county. He was ordered to serve 10 days in jail and pay $903.56 in fines and court fees.
