FLOYD COUNTY – A fatal crash took place Friday morning near Marble Rock in Floyd county.
The Iowa State Patrol says that the two-vehicle accident took place Friday morning, January 20 just before 7 AM on Highway 14 at the 174 mile marker, just outside Marble Rock. A 2015 Chevy Traverse was northbound on Highway 14 and crossed the center line. It then struck a 2012 Ford F-350 pickup truck, head-on, that was traveling southbound.
As a result of the crash, the driver of the Traverse was pronounced dead at the scene.
No names have been released at this time, as the accident remains under investigation.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Floyd county sheriff’s office, Marble Rock and Greene Fire Departments and AMR Ambulance.
