CHARLES CITY – A Charles City man awaits sentencing in a case in which police raided an apartment and found over a pound of marijuana.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 100 7th Avenue apartment #7 on November 2 at 1:40 AM, Charles City police said. “Nearly 1.5 pounds of marijuana was seized along with other drug related items,” they reported. Charles City police officers assisted at the scene.

As a result of the raid, Joseph Hill, Jr., age 34, was arrested and charged with possessioin of marijuana with intent to deliver, failure to affix a drug tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was jailed but soon posted bond and was released.

After a not-guilty plea, a trial was set for this month. However, Hill apparently changed his tune, and entered a guilty plea. He now awaits sentencing on February 28, 2017.

Previously, Hill has been guilty of harassment (twice), domestic abuse assault, criminal mischief, and more in the Floyd and Cerro Gordo county areas.

    1. LVS will be along shortly and is always willing to lend a helping hand. In fact he can switch hands and never miss a stroke.
