DCI investigates suspicious death in small Iowa town of Bellevue

BELLEVUE, Iowa – On December 25, 2016, at approximately 1:00 PM, the Bellevue Police Department was call to 606 South Riverview Street reference a suspicious death. Upon arrival, officers found James M Remakel, 59, deceased within the residence. Remakel’s death appeared suspicious and the Iowa Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) was called to assist with the investigation. Agents are currently conducting interviews; and, with the help of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation’s (DCI) Criminalistics Laboratory, are searching the residence.

Remakel was transported to the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner in Ankeny for an autopsy. The investigative team includes the Bellevue Police Department, Bellevue Police Department Reserve Officers, Jackson County Attorney’s Office, Iowa DPS’s Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation’s Criminalistics Laboratory and the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner.

    Maybe like the auditor of NATO committed suicide a couple of days ago – shot himself in the head then put the gun back in the glove compartment and expired.
