Charles City felon guilty of stealing police badge

CHARLES CITY – A Charles City man previously convicted of a felony drug crime has bene found guilty in court of stealing a police badge.

Charles City police say that on October 26, 2016 at 12:05 PM, the Charles City Police Department executed a search warrant on a residence in the 200 block of 10th Avenue. The search warrant was for a police badge which was taken from the department with in that last week. As a result of this search warrant, 33-year-old Isaia Weber of Charles City was found at the residence and arrested for theft and criminal mischief both due to the removal of the badge from the police station.

A second search warrant was also served at the same residence for narcotics and related items. Narcotics, firearms and related narcotics items were seized from the house.

On November 7, 2016, Judge Marilyn Deter found Weber guilty of fifth-degree criminal mischief and fifth-degree theft. He was given two 10-day jail sentences to be served consecutively. He was also ordered to pay $491.88 in court fees and costs.

Weber was convicted of a felony drug offense in Floyd county in 2006. After a number of probation violations, he was sent to prison and ultimately to the Beje Clark halfway house in Mason City, where he eventually escaped before being arrested again.
