MASON CITY – A four-vehicle accident was reported tonight south of Mason City.
A multiple car accident occurred at the intersection of 210th Street and Raven Avenue at approximately 5:38 PM Thursday evening, December 22. The accident involved 4 vehicles. The first vehicle was disabled on the shoulder of the road – a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica owned by Daniel Kuhlmeier, age 51. The second vehicle was being driven by Dawn Hoss, age 44, a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer. Hoss was eastbound on 210th Street when she sideswiped the Chrysler Pacifica and came to rest on the roadway. The third vehicle was being driven by Dale floss, age 47 – a 2006 Chevy Silverado. Dale floss was on the roadway assisting with the accident scene. The forth vehicle was driven by Richard Birkholz, age 74 – a 2015 Ford Focus. Birkholz was traveling eastboud on 210th Street and did not see the first vehicle and struck the Pacifica. He continued on and struck the third vehicle causing damage. Kuhlmeier was not in the stalled vehicle during the 2 accidents.
Birkholz was transported by Mason City Fire with minor injury to the Mercy ER.
