MASON CITY – A wanted North Iowa man was caught by police on a warrant connected to an alleged sex crime, and was found to be in possession of an illegal drug.
Mason City police tell NIT that on December 17, 2016, Josh Winders of Thompson, Iowa, was arrested on a valid arrest warrant at the Yes Way (Central) convenience store in Mason city at 11:41 PM. The warrant was for 3rd Degree Sex Abuse (a Class C Felony). The warrant stems from an incident that was reported in Mason City on Aug 3, 2016. Police could not divulge any other details on that alleged crime. When Winders was arrested at Yes Way, he was also allegedly found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Winders was charged with two drug offenses and arrested on the warrant. He was taken to the county jail, where he remains held on bond. He will be in court December 27.
