The driver, 38-year-old Robert Charles Anderson of Lake Mills, was driving a 2006 Ford Taurus east on 255th Steet when it abruptly veered off the road into the north ditch. The vehicle came to a stop after striking a mailbox, address marker, and electrical pole. Anderson fled the scene on foot, but was later found near the scene of the accident. Anderson did not sustain any injuries. The vehicle is a total loss. Property damage sustained is estimated around $6,000.
