BOONE, IOWA – An Iowa man has been found guilty by a jury of assault after he allegedly tried to drown his girlfriend in a bathtub.
The Boone County Attorney’s Office reports that on December 7, 2016, a jury found Dominic Wayne Pogwizd II, age 25 of Boone, guilty of assault. The jury trial began on December 6, 2016, with the testimony of four witnesses. The witnesses testified that a young female who appeared scared, shaking, and with wet hair stated that her boyfriend Dominic Wayne Pogwizd II had hit her in the apartment they share together and tried to drown her in their bathtub.
Pogwizd appears to be awaiting sentencing at this time.
The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.
