Clear Lake man jailed on domestic assault

clear-lake-policeCLEAR LAKE – A man who works as a Clear Lake police officer was jailed on a domestic assault charge.

On Thursday December 01, 2016, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office investigated a reported domestic assault incident that occurred in Clear Lake, Iowa. As a result of the investigation, an arrest was made. On Thursday December 01, 2016 Ryan Ray Eskildsen, age 36, of Clear Lake, Iowa was arrested and charged with Serious Misdemeanor Domestic Assault.

Mr. Eskildsen is a police officer employed with the Clear Lake Police Department serving as a police officer since October 2002. Mr. Eskildsen is currently being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail pending an appearance before a magistrate.

This investigation is continuing at this time.

    NIT needs to do a follow up regarding th case with the Kossith County Attorney’s office – special prosecutor. Also, check and see if he is still here employed.

    Now we have to start at the top of the Cerro gordo county sheriffs department. Investigation should be done by a third party agency with no ties to the state… you would be surprised what would be uncovered!

    It’s about time a law enforcement officer from the area is charged with a crime they committed- all to often Cerro gordo county and MCPD officers acts of criminal behavior are swept under the table!
