Man shot in Fort Dodge Monday

FORT DODGE – A man was shot in Fort Dodge Monday afternoon, leading to a police investigation.

Fort Dodge police say that on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 2:43 PM, officers were dispatched to 1816 7th Ave. South in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found and male subject that had been the victim of a gunshot. The male, whose name is not being released at this time, was transported to Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center for treatment. The victim’s condition is unknown at this time.

Reportedly, at least one school was locked down due to the incident.

Later Tuesday, police said the victim in the shooting was Mr. Robert Rivers Jr., 24 years of age. Mr. Rivers is in stable condition at the time of the statement.

Police are continuing to investigate.
