Convicted drunk driver busted on warrant

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman with plenty of experience driving drunk is behind bars after police visited her home.

Megan Elizabeth Hermen, age 31, was paid a visit by Mason City police Tuesday afternoon. They were seeking her on an arrest warrant that was issued the previous day by a judge in connection to her latest arrest. Back on June 16, a Cerro Gordo deputy stopped Herman for driving, an activity which she is barred from doing due to her several drunk driving convictions. In fact, Hermen was also arrested by Cerro Gordo deputies for driving while barred on January 6 of this year, as well. In September, she entered a guilty plea in that case and was ordered to serve two days in jail and pay $1,628 in fines and court fees.

For her latest arrest, Hermen was again taken to the county jail, where she remains held on bond.

Hermen was charged with felony third offense operating while intoxicated back in July of 2013, the second time she has faced such a charge. She later pled guilty to only first offense operating while intoxicated and had her license revoked and was sent to jail for 30 days.

Who is her husband

The guy she married.

They will give her another suspended sentence, suspend her fines, and turn her loose again.
