MASON CITY – A Mason City woman was due in court to answer for her drunk driving arrest, but failed to appear and she was arrested.
Trinity Lynn Burkhart, age 18, was due in court August 30 to be arraigned after she was arrested for drunk driving by a Cerro Gordo deputy back on August 5. However, she failed to appear in court and a warrant for her arrest was issued. She turned herself into the jail on September 6.
The next day, Burkhart pleaded guilty to first-offense operating while intoxicated. She was sentenced to 2 days in jail, lost her driver’s license and was ordered to pay $1,872.50 in fines and court fees.
Earlier in August, Burkhart pleaded guilty to an assault charge out of Hancock county after an incident on May 26 there. She was ordered to pay $461.25 in fines and court fees as a result.
