MASON CITY – Police may have saved some lives after a Waterloo woman was spotted driving her car in a very dangerous manner.
The incident took place on the evening of August 23 at about 8:56 PM. A Mason City police officer stopped a vehicle for driving wrong way and no headlamps at the 900 block of South Federal Avenue. During the traffic stop, the driver, 58-year-old Anna Marie Wagner of Waterloo was found to be impaired or under the influence. She was arrested and taken to the county jail on charges of first-offense operating while intoxicated and failure to use headlamps. There did not appear to be a charge for driving on the wrong side of the road in court records.
Wager was booked into the jail and soon released, pending a preliminary hearing in court set for September 9.
