MASON CITY – A Mason City man is serving a week in jail for his second drunk driving conviction.
A Cerro Gordo deputy discovered a vehicle on the shoulder of the road at Mallard Avenue and 300th Street in rural Cerro Gordo county at about 12:35 AM Friday, May 6. After an investigation, the driver, 52-year-old Terry Dean Wright, was arrested for second-offense operating while intoxicated. He was taken to the county jail, booked and later released, pending a court date.
In July, Wright entered a guilty plea in this case to second-offense operating while intoxicated. A judge sentenced him to 7 days in jail. He must also pay $2,641.25 and he has lost his driver’s license.
Wright was convicted of drunk driving in 2008 in Pottawattamie county.
