Kanawha man faces felonies after domestic incident

gavel-justiceGARNER, IOWA – A Kanawha man says he is not guilty of felony domestic abuse and willful injury.

Shane Jacobs, age 40 of Kanawha, has pleaded not guilty to charges of C felony willful injury causing serious injury and D felony domestic abuse assault involving strangulation.

Jacobs was allegedly involved in a domestic incident in Hancock county on June 18, 2016, that led to the charges being filed by the Hancock county sheriff’s office a couple of days later. He was arrested and posted bond and has remained free. A no-contact order was set by a judge in the matter.

Jacobs now awaits a jury trial on September 21 and a pre-trial conference on September 6.
