MASON CITY – Libraries are sanctuaries for kids and a place to learn, and now the Mason City library will have some new funds to help with that cause.

Today, the Mason City library announced the Alliant Energy Foundation has awarded a grant of $2,600 to the Mason City Public Library to purchase a new Early Literacy Station Computer for preschoolers to use when they visit the library.

Mary Markwalter, Library Director, accepted the award from Rebecca Gisel, Key Account Manager for Alliant Energy.
