WORTH COUNTY – Mercy Air Med helicopter and the jaws of life were some of the tools sent to render aid in a serious accident Thursday morning in worth county.

Emergency responders along with the Mercy Air Med helicopter were dispatched to 390th and Thrush Avenue (northeast of Manly) around 9:25 AM Thursday morning.

At the scene, NIT reporters were told the the jaws of life was used to extract a man out of a red pick up truck that landed in the field east of the intersection. The second vehicle, which appeared to be a mini van, was still located at the intersection.

It was also said that a person involved in the accident had neck and back injuries, and was transported either by helicopter or ground ambulance to a hospital.
