Woman cited for fleeing auto accident Tuesday

MASON CITY – With the help of witnesses, Mason City police were able to track down a woman with a record of traffic infractions who fled an auto accident Tuesday.

Mason City police say that Tuesday, May 10 at 3:08 PM, a hit and run accident was reported near 15th Street and South Pierce Avenue. Doug Ortmayer of Charles City was proceeding through the intersection when 52-year-old Lynn Marie Mcnamara-Fuller, address unknown, allegedly failed to obey the stop sign at this 4-way stop intersection. Mcnamara-Fuller’s Ford Taurus collided with Ortmayer’s truck in the intersection.

After the collision, Mcnamara-Fuller apparently stopped briefly, exited her car, but then got back in her car and drove away. Other witnesses at the scene were able to provide vehicle and subject descriptions to police.

Mcnamara-Fuller was then located and cited yesterday for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident and Fail to Obey Stop Sign and Yield Right of Way.

No one appeared to be hurt in the accident.

Court records show numerous violations by Mcnamara-Fuller over the last several years including numerous speeding tickets (last guilty in April of this year), failure to obey red lights, driving while barred (habitual offender), no insurance, and no license, among others.
