MASON CITY – Four NIACC softball players earned all-NJCAA Region XI honors.
Freshman outfielder Kendall Cornick was a first-team selection. Sophomore infielder Allison Scott and sophomore pitcher Lexy Pederson were second-team selections and sophomore Tricia Notermann was an honorable mention selection.
It is the first time since the 2010 season that the Lady Trojans have had a first-team all-region selection. Jordan Vaske was a first-team all-region outfielder in 2010.
Cornick collected 88 hits and hit .561 to lead the Lady Trojans, who were 20-31. She stole 65 bases, had six doubles, three triples and drove in 24 runs.
Scott hit .339 with 12 doubles, six home runs and a team-leading 55 RBIs. Scott was also a second-team selection as a freshman.
Pederson was 8-7 with a 3.02 earned run average with 134 strikeouts in 132 innings pitched.
Notermann hit .411 with a team-leading 19 doubles and six home runs. Notermann was also an honorable mention selection as a freshman.
