Wrong-way drunk driver sent to jail a second time

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman was sent to jail after her second drunk driving conviction.

Tami Lee Johnson, age 45, was sentenced to 7 days in jail with work release and orders to by $2,681.25 in fines and fees after she entered a guilty plea to second offense drunk driving. She had been stopped and arrested by a Mason City police officer back in September of 2015. She had allegedly been driving on the wrong side of a two-lane highway when she finally pulled over.

Johnson was convicted of drunk driving back in October of 2005 after another arrest by Mason City police.

No excuse for the crime. But it is a 1 block side street WITH side street parking on both sides, no middle of road markings …. You can’t go down this 1block Street on either the left or right side when cars are parked. You have to go down the middle. FYI only.f

…seven days in jail, but she can get out and go to work…boy that kind of punishment is really going to put the skids on her…wait, is she going to be using a car to get to work?

She is the worst kind of drunk driver. She is the one who will kill you at 1205am when you approach a crest and meet her driving on the wrong side of the road. She will hit you head on and kill you or someone and their family. I hate drunk drivers and I detest her and any other drunk driver. Please call the police if you see her driving. Please call the police if you see anyone driving drunk and help save a life!

People texting are far more dangerous.
