CARROLL COUNTY, IOWA – Alcohol may have been a factor in a Saturday night car crash that killed an Iowa man.
The incident took place around 9:45 PM Saturday night near 245th Street and Ivy Avenue in Carroll county, west of Des Moines. A 2005 Chevy Silverado driven by 26-year-old Andrew S. Behrens was eastbound on 245th Street as a 2009 Ford F-150 driven by 49-year-old David A. Reisenberg approached from the west. Both men are from Carroll, Iowa. Behrens’ vehicle crossed the center line and struck Heisenberg’s vehicle head-on. Both vehicles ended up in opposite ditches.
David A. Reisenberg, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was declared deceased at the scene. Andrew S. Behrens was airlifted to a Des Moines hospital. The state patrol report says alcohol may have been a factor, and an investigation is underway.
