Cops chase down wanted domestic abuser

MASON CITY – A convicted felon and domestic abuser accused of meth possession was chased down by cops Thursday night and taken to jail.

Cerro Gordo deputies and Mason City police officers converged on the 800 block of North Federal Avenue Thursday evening just before 10 PM, searching for Steven Allen Fox, who was wanted on at least two arrest warrants. Fox had fled on foot, and after a short time, was located and arrested.

Fox was taken to the county jail on warrants connected to a domestic abuse causing injury case (probation violation after his guilty plea last October) and a charge of possession of methamphetamine after Mason City police charged him last December. He skipped court dates in both cases, leading to the warrants.

Fox remains in the county jail, awaiting a court date.
