MASON CITY – A North Iowa man wanted on domestic abuse and other arrest warrants was nabbed by Mason City police Friday.
Officers caught up with 32-year-old Jason Olando Thorson of Lake Mills Friday morning around 9:20 PM. They made contact with him at a residence at 1813 South Hampshire Avenue. Police determined he was a wanted man on a number of charges, including aggravated domestic abuse assault involving strangulation, aggravated domestic abuse assault, interference with official acts, possession of a controlled substance. He had skipped a court date connected to a plea deal, leading to the warrants.
Thorson was taken to the county jail and is still there, being held on $9,000 bond.
In addition, Thorson is facing felony second degree theft charge out of Winnebago county, brought by the Lake Mills police department. He is awaiting a jury trial scheduled for March 30.
