MASON CITY – Police in Mason City announced today that they arrested a man who allegedly committed a sex act on a child.
Investigators with the Mason City Police Department arrested Brent James Champney, listed as a married man, age 30 of Mason City for the offense of Sexual Assault in the Third Degree; a class C felony.
Champney is alleged to have committed a sex act on a juvenile female without her consent in October of 2015.
Champney was transported to the Cerro Gordo County Jail after his arrest. He remains held there on $10,000 bond. He was found guilty of felony drug offenses in Winnebago county back in 2007 after his house was searched by Forest City police.
