Family-friendly outdoor event planned at Mason City park

MASON CITY – A family-friendly event is planned for next weekend at a Mason City park, which includes a bonfire, hayride, food, prizes and other activities.

The City of Mason City and the Iowa DNR will be hosting a winter event complete with a bonfire, hayride, food and other activities as well as education about tree trimming and pruning. The event will be held on Saturday, February 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Arthur J. Gerk Arboretum (south of 22nd Street SW in Georgia Hanford Park).

Pre-registration is not required but early registrants will be entered for a chance to win a prize. Pre-register by Friday, February 19 to Pam Stecker at 421-3601 or pstecker@masoncity.net to be eligible for the prize.
