Domestic abuser jailed for failing batterer’s education program

MASON CITY – A domestic abuser is in jail for failing to pay child support and failing his batterer’s education program as he has been on the run for months, wanted on warrants.

Joshua Henry Joyce, age 25 with a last known address of Mason City, has been wanted on arrest warrants since at least December of 2014 in connection to a felony forgery charge out of Winnebago county. No court date has been set in that case. Joyce also failed to appear for his court-mandated batterer’s education program classes which he was ordered to take as part of a conviction for serious domestic abuse in Mason City. He had been wanted on a warrant since March of this year in connection to that case, in which he still owes Iowa courts the entire $1,544.69 a judge ordered him to pay in fines and court fees.

Joyce has also been wanted by Mason City police since at least December of 2014 for failing to pay his child support and then skipping his court dates. He was finally caught and arrested by the MCPD Monday and was taken to the county jail, where he is now serving 30-day sentence.
