Man shot dead in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The Minneapolis Police Department said today that an adult male has died after being shot Sunday.

Police said that on Sunday evening at 10:00 pm, Minneapolis Police Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of the 3700 block of 1st Avenue South. Officers arrived in the area and located an adult male who was suffering from gunshot wounds lying in the alley. The victim was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance where he died of his injures Monday morning. The suspect(s) fled prior to officer’s arrival.

The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the victim, as well as the nature and cause of death.

Officers and detectives worked through the night to canvass and make contact with those who live and are travelling in the area. Police will have addition patrols in the neighborhood, both in squads and on foot. They strongly encourage people to share any information they have on this case with the officers.
