IRVING, Texas – The Iowa State women’s basketball team was projected to finish fourth in league play, marking its highest preseason selection since the 2008-09 season.
Iowa State has either met or exceeded the Big 12 Coaches Preseason Poll projection every season since 2002-03. Iowa State returns the Big 12’s leading rebounder in Seanna Johnson and redshirt sophomore Jadda Buckley, who enters the season as one of the best shooters in the nation.
The Cyclones also welcome a trio of new faces with Meredith Burkhall, an in-state recruit and top-50 prospect, TeeTee Starks, who was the top recruit in the state of Minnesota and Bridget Carleton, who was the top recruit out of Canada.
Iowa State kicks off the 2015-16 season on Nov. 13 in Hilton Coliseum when the Cyclones face Hampton.
