Mason City woman serves jail time for drunk driving

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman was jailed after a guilty plea to drunk driving and must pay thousands in restitution.

Mason City police tell NIT that on May 26, 2015, at 4:16 PM, 30-year-old Tiffany Marie Greenan was involved in a 2 vehicle collision at the intersection of 16th Street NW and Washington Avenue. Police were called to the scene and Gretna was arrested and charged with first offense operating while under the influence, no insurance, open container of alcohol, and failure to yield. Greenan’s passenger, Darnell Whitner, was charged with open container of alcohol. Mason city fire medics did respond but everyone declined to go to the hospital.

On September 25, Greenan pled guilty to the drunk driving charge and was given 2 days in jail and ordered to pay $6,469.73 in fines and restitution. She was put on a $50.00 per month payment plan.

All the other charges were dismissed as part of the plea deal.
