Curt Krieger was presented the “Friend of Lime Creek Nature Center” Award at the ceremony. This award recognizes individuals, families, and organizations for exceptional efforts in the area of conservation education and support of the Lime Creek Nature Center’s mission.
Krieger rarely misses a day running and hiking the nature center trails, and always brings along a bag to pick up trash and cans as he goes. He is also a weekend volunteer for the nature center, and assists with nature center special events. Several years ago Krieger volunteered to radio track an endangered wood turtle’s movements on the Winnebago River.
The following volunteers were recognized for providing 20 or more hours of volunteer service to the Lime Creek Nature Center over the past year: Shannon Anderson, Geri Barker, Bob and Sally Becker, Donna and Richard Blanchard, Katie Byerly, Jim Degen, Ann Fisher, Christine & Aaron Foth, Midge Gaylor, Rita Goranson, Curt Krieger, Alf Larson, Kay Larson, Bruce & Suzanne McKee, Dale Mills, Alice Phillips, Larry Rieffer, Jacque Simon, Jim and Ruth Smith, Gene and Shirley Smith, Denise Wood.
“We are very grateful to all of our volunteers for whatever time they are able to give us,” said Todd Von Ehwegen, Conservation Education Manager. “The Lime Creek Nature Center simply could not carry out its environmental education mission without them.”

The following individuals were elected as officers for the upcoming year: Bruce McKee – President; Denise Wood – Vice President; Katie Byerly – Secretary/Treasurer.
Remaining board members are Rita Goranson, Alice Phillips, Shannon Anderson, Dale Mills, Ellen Deets, Craig Sampson, and Cliff Vath.
