MASON CITY – A Clear Lake man accused of domestic abuse assault has been found guilty of three no-contact order violations and was arrested Monday in Kossuth county on new charges.
Corey Lee Halfpop, age 32, was charged on August 7 with first offense domestic abuse assault; a no-contact order was set by a judge at that time. Days later, Halfpop violated that no-contact order three times. On August 25, he was sentenced to 7 days in jail for each violation, but will serve the time concurrently. He has not yet been arraigned on the domestic abuse charge.
On Monday, August 31, Halfpop was arrested in the town of Bancroft in Kossuth county for public intoxication and interference with official acts. He remains in Algona in the county jail.
