FREDERICKSBURG, IA – A North Iowa man was hospitalized in Mason City and then taken to jail on felony charges after a domestic incident.
On Tuesday, August 11 around 9:24 AM, the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Dispatch took an emergency call requesting assistance at 110 Oak Street within the city of Fredericksburg.
Upon arrival, the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office met with the occupants of the residence, Landon Riley, age 35 and Mindy Riley, age 35. A domestic issue had arisen.
After a short standoff with law enforcement, Landon Riley peacefully submitted to the custody of the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office.
Landon Riley was transported to Mercy Medical Center, North Iowa in Mason City for medical care.
On August 12, pursuant to the Ed Thomas Law of 2010, Landon Riley was released from Mercy Medical Center North Iowa and arrested on a warrant issued by the Chickasaw County District Court for Kidnapping in the 2nd degree, a Class B Felony and brought to the Chickasaw County Jail where he remains at this time.
Those agencies assisting the Chickasaw County Sheriff include the Chickasaw County Ambulance, the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office, the New Hampton Police Department, the Iowa State Patrol, and the Chickasaw County Attorney’s Office.
