Cops can’t say whether officer was ticketed or victim of prank

MASON CITY – Ticketed or not?

Police were’t able to say today when NIT asked whether an officer was ticketed Tuesday while parked at the Cerro Gordo county courthouse.

An NIT reader sent accompanying photo, showing a ticket on the window of a Mason City police squad car. Was the officer ticketed, or is this photo the result of a prank, or perhaps a mistake?

“We did have at least 1 officer at a court proceeding yesterday,” a police spokesman said today when asked about the ticket. “I do not show any were ticketed though. I’m guessing someone transplanted a ticket from another vehicle.”
