OSAGE – A St. Ansgar man faces a number of charges after Osage police chased him at speeds reaching 130 miles per hour into Minnesota, where he was finally stopped by spike strips.
On July 7th at approximately 11:00 pm, an Osage Police Officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver did not stop and proceeded to lead officers on a high speed chase of up to 130 mph through Mitchell County and into Mower County. The driver was stopped just South of Austin, MN by spike strips. The driver, Brandon Anderson, 24 years old of St. Ansgar, was taken into custody without further incident. He was arrested for OWI by Minnesota State Patrol and is being held in the Mower County Jail and will await extradition on Osage Police Department charges.
He has been charged with multiple traffic violations by the Osage Police Department, including Eluding Law Enforcement, Driving under Suspension, Driving While Barred, Speed, Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device, Violation of Restricted License, Failure to Use Headlights when required and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia by the Osage Police Department.
The Osage Police Department was assisted by Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office, Brownsdale Police Department, Austin Police Department, Mower County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
