Three youths stopped after alleged theft of beer from Wal-Mart

MASON CITY – The latest call for help from Wal-Mart in Mason City for police assistance involved three teens who stole beer and fled the area, only to be caught soon thereafter.

According to Mason City police, Monday morning at 3:28 AM, a person reported two males had just stolen beer from Wal-Mart and left the building in a vehicle driven by a third male.

Officers located the vehicle with the three males  – all from Mason City – inside and stopped it on 19th Street SW, near Taft Avenue. The two 16-year-old passengers, Hunter Pietig and Dylan Kamm, were charged with Theft 5th Degree and Unlawful Consumption. Kamm was also charged with Minor using Tobacco. The two juveniles were released to a parent. The driver, 19-year-old Nicholas Sebastian, was charged with Unlawful Consumption and processed administratively for a .02 violation, and then released.

The Cerro Gordo Sheriff’s Department assisted with the investigation.
