WEST UNION, IOWA – A man who recently entered a guilty plea in a sexual abuse case, yet is free from custody, has cut his GPS monitoring bracelet, police say, and is on the loose.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of 30-year-old Thomas Andrew Cannon to contact them immediately at (563) 422-6067 (or dial 911). Cannon was charged with Sexual Abuse in the 3rd Degree and was expected to show up at the Fayette County Jail 6-15-15 at 10:00 AM. At Approximately 4:38 AM this morning the Sheriff’s Office was notified that Cannon had cut his GPS monitoring bracelet and was considered to be in violation of his sentence. Cannon is believed to be driving a 2000 white Cadillac STS with dealer plates. The vehicle is not currently registered.
Law enforcement warned that Cannon may be armed.

GPS bracelet is a farce.. The only way you protect kids is to give them all a GPS bracelet too. More likely do that than put sex offenders in prison. It’s to hard to prosecute so they all get plead down to nothing. GPS makes all the politicians feel warm and cozy inside plus saves money. Still abusing kids but saves money.
Not so tough now is he? Damn abuser needs to spend some time in a cell with Big BUbba.
UPDATE: Cannon was found in a trailer house north of Waukon, Iowa where he had barricaded himself in the trailer. The Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Waukon Police Department and the Iowa State Patrol Officers assisted in talking him out of the trailer without incident. Cannon was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he is being held and more charges will be filed.
