DES MOINES – An amber alert announced Monday morning has been cancelled after two missing children were found in a hotel.
The Amber Alert that was issued earlier this morning for 4-year-old Reed Day and 2-year-old Rheea Day, both of Jefferson, has been cancelled.
Both children were located at a Des Moines hotel with the suspect, Allison Tucker. Tucker was arrested and taken into custody without incident. Both children were found safe and unharmed.
Authorities said that on Sunday, May 31, Allison Ann Marie Tucker left Jefferson, Iowa, with two minor children, ages two and four. The children belong to a good friend and she was allowed to leave with the children to reportedly travel to the Des Moines area to look at a dog.
