MASON CITY – A dangerous prank played on a deputy that could have gone horribly wrong resulted in a lecture early Tuesday.
According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was driving near Carolina Avenue and 4th Street at about 3:27 AM when two subjects allegedly “jumped in front” of his patrol car and proceeded to flee.
The deputy – with the help of other officers – tracked down the two subjects and apparently gave them a stern lecture, advising them “of the danger that can cause”. They two subjects were “told not to do anything like that in the future.”
No arrests were made.
They should have been given a whoopin
They do this to people with nice cars in Florida all the time and claim they are injured a little, just to get their insurance companies to settle for a few thousand instead of going to court. We had a friend who insisted on going to court because he knew the guy did it on purpose, but his insurance company paid the guy off anyway because it was cheaper. It really made him mad.
We have had kids do this to us several times. Then if you should hit one it will be your fault and you will have to spend a ton of money just proving that they are idiots.
