U.S. 69 south of Klemme to close April 27 for bridge replacement

BRITT, Iowa – April 17, 2015 – Work to replace the bridge over the Iowa River on U.S. 69 south of Klemme will require closing the roadway to traffic beginning Monday, April 27, until early November, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Britt construction office.

Traffic will be detoured west on Hancock County Road B-55 for 2 miles, south on Hancock County Road R-56 for 6 miles, and back east on Hancock County Road B-63 to U.S. 69 at Goodell.

Godbersen-Smith Construction Co. of Ida Grove was awarded the $1,614,571 contract for this project.
