Alcohol may have played factor in Thursday morning auto accident

Police Car LightsRURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – Law enforcement said Thursday that a crash earlier this morning that injured two people may have involved alcohol.

According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, at 12:22 AM, deputies responded to a single vehicle collision at Highway 65 and 120th Street in southern Cerro Gordo county. The driver was identified as Rhea Jo Ramsey, age 22 of Webster City. The passenger was identified as Abby Avis Paine-Trent, age 20 of Duncombe. Both women were transported to Mercy Medical Center Center in Mason City by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

The sheriff’s office indicated that alcohol may have played a part in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
