NIACC’s Ford-Washington, Anderson earn first-team all-region honors

MASON CITY – NIACC’s Sierra Ford-Washington and Logan Anderson were both first-team all-NJCAA Region XI women’s basketball selections.

NIACC’s Ashleigh Onaca and Savannah Lentz were second-team selections and Anna Eckert, Diamond Miller and Trudy Peterson were honorable mention selections.

Ford-Washington averaged 22.0 points and 6.1 rebounds per game during her sophomore season. She also collected 112 assists and 84 steals and helped lead the Lady Trojans to the NJCAA Region XI title game.

Ford-Washington, an honorable mention all-region selection as a freshman, scored 848 career points (9th on school’s all-time list) with 291 career rebounds, 157 career steals (8th on school’s all-time list) and 149 assists (12th on school’s all-time list).

Ford-Washington scored 594 points in her sophomore season, which ranks fifth on NIACC’s all-time single-season scoring list.

Anderson averaged 16.1 points and 3.3 rebounds per game during her freshman season. She also had 68 3-point goals, 72 assists and 50 steals.

Anderson’s 500 points ranks ninth on the school’s all-time single-season scoring list.
Onaca averaged 7.2 points and 4.8 rebounds during her sophomore season.

Lentz, a freshman, averaged 9.9 points per game and connected on 84 3-point goals, which tied the single-season record also held by Cortni Rush in the 2013-14 season.

Eckert, a freshman, averaged 6.7 points and 4.9 rebounds in the 2014-15 season. Miller, a redshirt freshman, averaged 5.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.

Peterson, a freshman, averaged 7.6 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. Peterson also connected on 42 3-point goals.
