CHARLES CITY – Police in Charles City arrested a man Thursday for violating a no-contact order in a domestic abuse case.
On March 5 at about 2:00 AM, Charles City police were called to investigate a possible domestic abuse situation at a residence in the 100 block of 8th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers determined that a man at the scene, 24-year-old Michael Paris Hamilton had violated a valid no-contact order connected to his arrest last September for an alleged violent domestic abuse incident that resulted in his arrest.
Hamilton was jailed and soon released. He is due in court for a jury trial on March 19 and has pleaded not guilty.
