Mason City woman arrested after assault at apartment

MASON CITY – A violent episode at a Mason City apartment led to the arrest of a woman on a felony charge of willful injury.

Shaneka Leggette, age 24, was arrested after an incident at her apartment, located at 333 West State Street, early on January 25. Police allege Leggette used a knife to injure a male companion at that location. He was hospitalized for his wounds.

Leggette was charged with felony willful injury and 1st offense domestic abuse assault. She remains in the Cerro Gordo County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on January 30.
