MASON CITY – A Mason City woman who was arrested for drunk driving and interference with an officer will stand trial in March.
Stacey Ann Pietig, age 19, was pulled over by law enforcement on October 31 just before 1:00 AM near the 2000 block of 12th Street NE. The investigating officer determined that Pietig was intoxicated and during the stop, she attempted to interfere with the process. She was charged with first offense operating while intoxicated, interference with official acts and unsafe approach to vehicles. An un-named passenger in the car was arrested for an open container of alcohol.
Pietig has entered not guilty pleas and hired Joel Yunek for legal representation. A jury trial for the drunk driving charge has been set for March 3, 2015. A pre-trial conference is set for February 20. A non-jury trial has been set for the interference charge on March 8, 2015.
Robyn I agree. Looks like to me the parents are absent on the job. Can’t say I blame the kids 100%. But I can say the parents bare a lot of what’s going on with these kids. You can look at the anger in this girls eyes and only wonder what goes on behind closed doors!
Her younger brother that was charged for minor consumption just a little over a month ago just got a dui last night following a hit and run. And the guy in this car with the open container, not a good guy. Rumor has it, he’s into the date rape drugs. Hopefully this jury will do the right thing and give her the maximum punishment there is. And keep her from behind the wheel of a car for quite awhile.
