CEDAR FALLS – The Northern Iowa men’s basketball team continued its winning ways Sunday with a 74-63 victory over the pesky South Dakota State Jackrabbits.
Sheffield’s Seth Tuttle scored 11 for the Panthers, who improve to 11-1 on the season. Nate Buss had 14 points and Wes Washpun had 12. The UNI bench added a total of 45 points in the victory for a balanced scoring attack which included 10 players.
UNI lead 39-30 at halftime.
Tuttle opened the second half by drilling just his fifth 3 of the year, and he set a career high with nine assists. “It’s nice to have that number. But people have to make shots,” Tuttle said.
Northern Iowa next plays at Evansville on Wednesday to open Missouri Conference Play.
