ELGIN, IA – Law enforcement located and arrested a man who attacked a woman at least twice and forced a sex act upon her.
On December 23, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a sexual assault in the city of Elgin.
The ensuing investigation showed that Ethan Grant Guyer Jr., age 49, had attacked an adult female near his residence and forced a sex act upon her. It was also discovered that this was not his first assault on this victim. Guyer was charged with felony C sexual assault in the third degree. At least one prior incident was documented, which lead to a charge of assault with the intent to commit a sexual abuse.
This case remains under investigation and it is likely more charges will be filed, police said. Guyer was transported to the Fayette County Jail and is being held on $50,000.00. If convicted Guyer could face up to 12 years in prison and be required to be on the sex offender registry.
