CLEAR LAKE – Drug charges were dismissed against a Clear Lake woman in exchange for a guilty plea to drunk driving.
Angel Lee Eggers, age 41, was stopped by the Iowa State Patrol in Cerro Grodo county last April. During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered illegal prescription drugs and determined that Eggers was intoxicated and had no insurance. Eggers agreed to a plea deal later in which see accepted the drunk driving charge and the other charges were dismissed. She was ordered to pay $2,162.05 in fines and fees and sent to jail for two days, which she is currently serving.
